Mrs. Betty Lou Corn

July 29, 1928 - February 1, 2022

Betty Corn, 93, passed away peacefully at James River Nursing Home, Springfield, MO, on February 1, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was the proud mother of two children, grandmother of three children, and great-grandmother of five children. Betty was born and raised in Willow Springs, Missouri, on July 29, 1928, to Lula Bell and Harve Stringer. On February 7, 1946, Betty married Joe Corn. They were married for 71 years at the time of his passing on December 16, 2017. Betty and Joe were life-long residents of Willow Springs and devoted their life to their children, grandchildren and the community. They were active in the Republican party, members of the Willow Springs Baptist Church, and in later years enjoyed camping in their RV. Betty loved her working years at Ferguson Drug, Hannah’s Dress Shoppe in Willow Springs, and being a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Betty had a passion for many things, but she was most passionate about being a wife, mother and grandmother. She suffered a debilitating stroke in April of 2000. She was and will continue to be an inspiration to all of us for maintaining a positive attitude and living life to the best of her ability. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her three sisters – Geneva Tipton, Frances Holloway and Othene Brigance; seven of her brothers – Tom, Ewing (Rip), Russell (Soup), Sonny (Spoof), Clifford (Mack), Darrell (Mutt) and Roy (Shine). Betty is survived by son Joe Allan Corn (Janie), grandson Russell Corn (Poonnasa), great-granddaughter, Emma, step great-grandson, Quinn McMahon; son Scott Corn (Katherine), grandson Brandon Corn (Melissa), great-grandchildren Brody and Bailey; and grandson Andrew Corn (Rae), great-grandson, Hollis. She is also survived by her brother Dr. Richard Stringer (Francie) and many nieces, nephews and life-long friends. A visitation for Betty will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Willow Funeral Home, LLC with a graveside service following at 12:30 P.M at the Willow Springs City Cemetery with Pastor Scott Williamson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Willow Funeral Home, LLC. Online condolences may be left at www.willowspringsfuneralhome.com In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Willow Springs Rotary Club or your charity of choice. Proverbs 31:28-29 - Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.
