Carmen R. Collins

September 16, 1953 - November 26, 2015

Carmen R. Collins, a long time resident of Willow Springs, unexpectedly passed away on Thursday evening, November 26, 2015 while at her home. Born September 16, 1953 in West Plains, MO to Islet (Smith) Dickman and Lloyd Altermatt., she was 62 years old. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic school for 8 years and later graduated from Willow Springs High School. She then went on to become a Beautician where she owned and operated her own salon in Willow Springs. After a few years, she then went to work for various factories and restaurants in the area. She was an avid animal lover who took in many strays and gave them a home; however, she especially enjoyed working with horses. She was also described as a DIY person who enjoyed leather working as well. Carmen especially enjoyed the company of friends, family, and was well known by many. She will be greatly missed by her family and those who knew her. She is preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Altermatt; Step-Father, Marvin Dickman; her older sister, Reanne Gibbson; and infant sister, Islet L. She is survived by her mother, Islet (Smith) Dickman; Sister, Regina Rowlett and her husband Perry; three brothers, Henry Dickman; Paul Dickman and his wife, Cindy; and Ernest Dickman and his wife, Teresa. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. Ray Wood and family, LeeAllen Wood and family, John Gaffey and wife Stephanie and family, Nick Hagen and wife Tomacita and family, Cody Dickman and family, and Britny Dickman, Scott Dickman and wife Whitney and Family, Kendall Dickman and wife Brianna and family, Anthony Dickman, and Candice Dickman and family.
