Mrs. Rae Thayer Johnson

Rae Thayer Johnson, 89, a resident of Mountain View passed away early Saturday morning, July 20, 2019 with her loved ones around her. She was born August 22, 1929 in Worcester, MA to Edward T. and Mary E. (Hughes) Barron. Rae grew up in Worcester, where she attended the local schools and graduated from North High School. She received her B.A. in Religious Education at Union College in Barbourville, KY. She was married to Iver Johnson on June 27, 1959 in Worcester, MA. Rae was a devoted mother and loved being a homemaker. She and Iver were very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mountain View. Rae loved to travel, enjoyed studying genealogy, and was a very caring individual who always saw the best in people. She was well known for sending everyone she knew a birthday card and sent lots of Christmas cards out every year along with a Christmas letter inside. Rae always believed that the world’s problems could be solved if people would simply follow Jesus Christ. It has been said that she was very particular about her personal appearance and was also known for setting a beautiful table for guests in their home. She will be greatly missed by her family, her friends, and all who knew her. Rae Johnson is preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Mariko (Johnson) Collison. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Iver R. Johnson; their son, David Arthur Johnson and his wife, Merciliza of Beaver Creek, OH; a cousin, Bonnie LaForme and her husband, Bob of Tarpon Springs, FL. Further survivors include three step-children, Howard Iver Johnson of Monroe, GA, Patty Lee Blinson of Tucker, GA and Linda Harvey-Beltz and her husband, Robert Beltz of Willow Springs, MO. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Daniel, Ryan, and Kristine Johnson of Beaver Creek, OH, James Iver Collison of Springfield, MO and Jonathan D. Hall and his wife, Jennifer (Cox) Hall of Bedford, TX; along with several great grandchildren. A family night/visitation for Rae Johnson will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Willow Funeral Home, LLC. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 2800 Christie Dr. in West Plains with President Mike Delimont officiating.
